This Luxurious Cuba Adventure from Key West Is Our New Favorite Day Trip

Thanks to former President Obama, travel to Cuba became a whole lot easier in the past year. But now, with Trump indicating that he’ll tighten regulations regarding trade and travel to the island nation, it’s more important than ever that if you want to go, you go now!

And, lucky for you, we’ve discovered what just might be the easiest and most luxurious trip around … a day trip that begins and ends at one of our favorite Key West resorts, Sunset Key!

The trip is simple, and includes round-trip private transfers, beginning with an 8 AM private departure from Sunset Key, where you’ll take a direct flight from Key West to Cuba. From there, you’ll enjoy an architectural tour of Havana with a city historian, a cigar factory tour with a local cigar sommelier, a docent-led tour of the Havana Club Museum, and a private in-cottage rum tasting on the eve of the trip. Personalized itineraries can also be accommodated upon request.

The $16,000 trip, which includes up to six people, is a great way to see Cuba in a day, but it’s also easy, thanks to a personal escort and “trip facilitator” that will help do all the legwork, such as securing visas, filing required paperwork, and orchestrating all excursions.

The only caveats? You’ll need to request the trip at least 24 hours in advance and stay overnight at Sunset Key, which is hardly a hardship – check out our review of this great luxury resort here.
